ELKHART - Marcie (Sugarplum) D. Hill, 46, Elkhart, died 7:40 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born Dec. 18, 1970, in Elkhart, to Dave and Carolyn (Wise) Lane. On July 16, 1994, she married Dave Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Hill, Elkhart; daughters, McKenzie Hill, Elkhart, Kennedy Hill, Elkhart; parents, Dave and Carolyn Lane, Elkhart; a sister, Christie (Shawn) Scheidel, Middlebury; a paternal grandfather, Loyal Lane, Edwardsburg, MI; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Berdean Lane, and maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Raymond Wise.

During the course of her therapy, Marcie had many loving caregivers and we want to mention Terry (Brother-In-Law) and Connie Hill (Sister-In-Law), friends, Jill Clarke, Billie Jo Pawlak, Jan Dean, Tammy and Todd Snodgrass, Michelle Brown (Cousin/Friend), and many others not mentioned. We would also like to mention the support from the Baugo Community and Baugo School System. A special thanks to the Elkhart Clinic, Dr. James Jin, along with his caring and patient nursing staff.

Marcie was a 1989 graduate of Concord High School. She worked for the Baugo Community Schools as a Secretary/Treasurer at Jimtown Junior High School. She volunteered with Baugo food drive through the Baugo Lions Club. She was very involved with her daughters various activities, including sporting events and extracurricular activities. Marcie also adored her animals, her dog, Abby, and cat, Ellie (Bug). She attended church at the Vineyard in Mishawaka.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, and one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday, July 7, 2017, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Burial will take place at Olive (East) Cemetery, CR 3, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be directed to Research of Pancreatic Cancer (Pancan.org).
