Robert was born on June 7, 1966 in South Bend to Eldon Criss and Stella “Jean” Batson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Emilie DeJaegher; grandparents; uncles, Terry Batson and Ray Showers; brother-in-law, Tim Calvert .
Surviving are his girlfriend, Michele Egmer; his son, Joshua (Brittney) DeJaegher of LaPorte; grandchildren, Jaedon and Kyler DeJaegher; sister, Rhonda (Brian) Brown; half-sister, Jackie Bentrim of Florida; half-brother, Jerry (Erin) Myers of Iowa; stepsister, LuAnna Robison of Tennessee and a special niece, Jennifer (Jamie) Waldron and her two children, Austin and Karmyn. Also surviving are lots of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins of the Batson side and uncles; aunts and cousins from the Criss side.
Robert loved fishing and going to the races in South Bend and New Paris. Loved watching wrestling and his all-time favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed by his family and Michele’s family who dearly adored him, and lots of friends who all once met him became family.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 1 p.m., with visitation two hours prior, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
