OMAHA — Diane M. Morgan, 72, of Dannebrog died on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Kronborg Lutheran Church near Marquette with Pastor Kristine Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at the St. John’s Kronborg Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Diane was born to Margrete and Rudolf “Chicago Rudy” Andersen, Jan. 25, 1945, in Chicago, Ill. The family decided to move to Nebraska to the family farm near Hordville to raise the four kids. Diane graduated from Hordville High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter she went to college in Lincoln where she graduated with her beautician degree. She then married Christopher Morgan, June 19, 1966.

The family moved a few times, as Chris was in the Army, but finally settled in Salina, Kan. They loved the country lifestyle and had a number of horses and other animals. Diane worked at a nursing home for a number of years until she found a job making Tony’s Pizza and Chris began working in computers.

After a number of years in Kansas, they decided to move to Dannebrog, where they would be closer to family. They moved to a farm just outside of town and had number of donkeys and cats to keep them busy. After a few short-term jobs, both Chris and Diane decided to retire.

Diane was a member of Kronborg Lutheran Church. She had many hobbies but knitting was her passion. She made baby blankets, bed spreads, Christmas ornaments and many other items. She loved the bright colors and the joy her items gave to others. She also loved to hand write inspirational sayings and quotes on cards and hand them out to everyone she saw. She was a people person and loved to engage in conversations.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Christopher Morgan of Dannebrog; and her two brothers, Donald R. Andersen of Central City, formerly of Hordville, and Roger Andersen of Aurora; as well as the many family members in Texas, Arizona, Nebraska, Hawaii and Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Margrete and Rudolf Andersen; and a brother, Richard, who passed as a child.
