Confederate Veteran of the Late War Passes Away
James K Cleary, a prominent citizen, died at his home, No 1854 Fifth street northwest, last evening
The deceased was born in this city fifty three years ago, and had resided here all his life, except during the late war, when he served as captain in the Confederate army.
He had been engaged in a number of business enterprises in this city. He was once a partner of the firm of Hume & Co. Until a few months ago he was engaged in business on Eleventh street, between E and F.
A widow, one don, and two daughters survive him.

James K Cleary, a retired merchant of Washington and who was well known in this city died at his residence in Washington on Saturday night aged fifty three years, after an illness of ten days. Mr Cleary was born in that city in 1841, and he served four years in the Confederate army.
