Teresa Marlene Morgan, 62, longtime Bartlesville resident, died Sunday in Tulsa. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all she met, fed and cared for. Teresa was born the daughter of Elwood Wilson Tanner Jr. and Dora Ann (Ratliff) Tanner on March 28, 1955, in Tulsa.

The family lived in Avant before moving to Bartlesville when she was eight. Teresa attended Bartlesville schools, graduating from College High in 1973. The following June, she met the love of her life Steven at Reda Pump where both of them worked and they soon married on Dec. 13, 1974. They made their home and raised their two children in Bartlesville.

Teresa was a teacher’s aide at Oak Park school and supervised afterschool care at Wilson before starting a 14 year career with 66 Federal Credit Union. In her time there she worked in many areas including the call center and card services before leaving in 2010. Throughout their 43 years together, Teresa and Steven enjoyed doing many things together like shopping at flea markets and driving to look at the fall leaves.

Teresa was an active member of Spirit Church and volunteered in many church ministries including leading the hospitality team, being a small group leader, contributing to the funeral dinner ministry and church dinners, and participating in children’s ministries, nursery work, and outreach to Jane Phillips School.

Teresa was a loving wife and mother who had the gift of hospitality. Picky eaters had a friend in Teresa because she made sure everyone had something to eat that they enjoyed. She was gifted in the kitchen and liked to try new recipes, altering them to her taste. Most of all she will be remembered for her generous and servant-like approach to life. This is illustrated nowhere better than in all the time she spent caring for her family and investing in her children and her grandchildren’s lives.

Teresa is survived by her husband Steven of the home; two children, Scott Morgan of Tulsa, Jill Lyon and Jeremiah of Bartlesville; two brothers, Garry Tanner and Mary Jo of Douglasville, GA, and Phillip Tanner and Cindy of Lone Grove, OK; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Kellogg and Richard of New Castle, OK, and Deborah Chandler and Michael of Murfreesboro, TN; five grandchildren, Aderyn, Arya, Kylyn, Marek and Declan; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Linda Warren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, at Spirit Church, with Pastor Ike Amaro officiating. Interment will follow in the White Rose Cemetery.
