MIFFLINBURG--Mrs. Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Bierly, 75, 292 Maple, Street, Mifflinburg, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday in the Lewisburg United Methodist Homes. Lewisburg RD3, where she was a guest since May 19. She had been in failing health for the past several years.
She lived at her present address for the past nine years, and prior to that on Market Street, Mifflinburg, and in West Buffalo Township, Union County.
A native of Centre County, she was born in Miles Township, March 31, 1902, a daughter of the late William E. and Maggie E. Long Minnig. She was married to Frank William Bierly, who died Feb. 6, 1952.
Mrs. Bierly was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Mifflinburg, and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of the church.
She was survived by one son, Dean L. Bierly, Mifflinburg RD2; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harry L. Minnig, Rebersburg RD.
Funeral services were held from the Mifflinburg Chapel of the James L. Schwartz Home for Funerals, Mifflinburg. The Reverend Arthur F. Edmunds, her pastor, officiated.
Burial was in the East Side Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
