NOBLESVILLE--Sylvia M. Cross, 83, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. She was born in Dudley, England on Sept. 21, 1933, the daughter of William and Irene Oakley.
She moved to the United States in 1953 with her husband, Robert. She was a member of the Elks Country Club in Muncie and attended Hazelwood Christian Church. Sylvia worked as a receptionist at Muncie Clinic for several years.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles O. Cross (wife-Hollie) and Gregory N. Cross; two grandsons; three sisters, Cathy Horn, Billie Stanley, and Marie Gibbs; a brother, Nigel Oakley; a sister-in-law, Jane Kuehn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Cross, in 2013; her sister, June Klouting; and her parents.
Services will be 12 p.m. on Saturday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Entombment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana (Little Red Door), 2311 W.
