Steve Dean Beaty, 58, of Arkansas City, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Friends Cemetery in Rose Hill.

A memorial has been established for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions can be made through Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Steve Dean Beaty was born June 9, 1959, in Wichita, the son of Lucas Dale and Ruby Ruth (Bazil) Beaty. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver most of his life.

He married Sandra Allen in July 1997 in Butler County. He loved his trains, farming, airplanes and animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lori Hughbanks.

His family includes his wife, Sandra, of the home; his children, Christine Beaty, Lucas Beaty and wife Jill Wineinger, and Holly Harper and husband Phillip, all of Arkansas City; his sister, Angela Geer, of Wichita; and his grandchildren, Gabriel and Noah Harper, and Lein and Lydia Beaty.
