She was born in Columbus, OH on May 30, 1938, to the late Anthony and Beatrice (Castrop) Smigelski.
Carol worked with the dealers at the BMV for more than 20 years.
She was a member of Walnut Heights Civic Association and a treasurer of her OPERS chapter.
In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, cooking amazing meals, and cheering on her OSU Buckeyes!
Carol is survived by her children, Regina Benson, Rita (Brenda Okeeffe) Benson, Mary (Gary) Triplett, and Matthew (Holly) Benson; brothers, David (Marjorie) Smigelski, Earl Smigelski; grandchildren, Megan (Adam) Gonce, Amber (Nick) Stephenson, Rio and Maya Benson.
She is also survived by her aunt, Charlotte (Smigelski) Tulgetske.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 4, 2017, from 3-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E Livingston Columbus, OH.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd, Columbus, OH.
Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
