Funeral services for Marion E. “Rick” Foster, 83, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, with burial and military honors to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday and after 9 AM on Friday at the funeral home. He passed away on July 1, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Rick was a beloved husband, father and grandfather to his wonderful family. He retired after 21 years of service in the United States Army, where he was in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He then retired from Ford Motor Company where he was an Inspector and Assembler at the Louisville, KY Plant. He was also a proud member of the VFW Post 3281 in New Albany, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Jeffersonville and the American Legion Bonnie Slone Post 28. He was a great outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Sue Foster; parents, Christopher Columbus "Lum" and Marjorie O. (Buckley) Foster of Waterfall, PA; son, Tony Foster; sisters, Martha Cohenour, Ruth Hawn and Zelpha Foor; and brother, Ray Foster.
He is survived by his children, Richard Foster (Linda), Christopher Foster (Michelle), Angela Foster and Pamela McCool (Mike); step-sons, Kevin and Jim Gilpin; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and beloved pet, Marley.
