Curtis Walton Nicholson, Jr. 77, of Spotsylvania passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Wednesday June 28, 2017. Curtis was born on March 6, 1940 to Curtis W. and Mary E. (Gallahan) Nicholson in Fredericksburg. He married Shirley Ann Davenport on April 12, 1958 in Rhoadesville, VA. Curtis spent 20 years driving for Hilldrup moving, then worked for himself at Nicholson & Strother Moving and Nicholson Auto Sales. He was a Member of the Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three sons, Tony Nicholson wife Bonnie, Roy Nicholson wife June, Dewayne “Boo” wife Brittnie; three daughters, Melissa Bruce husband Steve, Bonny Whaling husband Gary, Wanda Spiker husband Jim; two sisters, Shirley Armstrong, Rosalie Peregory husband Lindsey; six grandchildren, Steven wife Courtney, Frankie, Gary "Skeeter" wife Katelyn, Travis wife Kelly, Tony, TK and six great grandchildren, Kinsley, Bailey, Megan, Tristan, Bryson and Mazzy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home and funeral service will be held on Thursday July 6, 2017 at 11 am at the Wilderness Baptist Church with Pastor Amos Healy officiating. Casket bearers will be: Tony, Dewayne "Boo", Gary "Skeeter", Gary, Frankie and Travis. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
