Johnnie L. Andrews, 79, of rural Everest, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 29, 1938 in Horton, Kansas the son of Charles and Nina Hixson Andrews. Johnnie was a rural mail carrier out of Everest and enjoyed farming and raising his black angus cows. He was a prior member of the Elks Lodge, Lions Club, Kansas Livestock Association, served in the U.S. Army National Guard and on the Washington Township Board. On July 10, 1963 he married Toni Schecher in Horton, Kansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Julie Andrews of rural Everest, Kansas; two grandchildren, Shawna Stoldt and Christopher Beagle; three great grandchildren, Gracie Andrews, Aleigha Andrews and Jax Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Arlene Andrews and a son, Jeff Andrews. The family will greet friends on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. A private burial will be at the Wolf River Cemetery near Leona, Kansas.
