John was born October 2, 1946 in Ferndale, MI, to the late George and Mary (Moore) Dyer. He is a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He married Margit Balk on November 16, 1968 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. John is the owner of Dyer Plumbing and Heating and was a proud member of the Sebewaing American Legion. He enjoyed going up north to his cabin, riding his motorcycle, working outside, taking pictures of his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Margit Dyer; children: Brian (Nicole) Dyer and Mike (fiancé Katie Stein) Dyer; grandchildren: Weiland, Garrison and Sean Dyer; siblings: Patricia (Tom) McSween, Theresa (Fred) Gibis, Mary (Howard) Gourd, Robert Dyer, Beth (Wayne) LaPratt and Thomas (Kathy) Dyer; sisters-in-law: Janice Dyer and Cathryn Dyer; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Dyer; brothers: Phillip Dyer and Richard Dyer; and sister, Kathy Irvine.
Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-9pm.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the funeral home at 11am. Brad Haist will be officiating.
Burial will take place privately at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Sebewaing American Legion.
