Joseph R. Bertrand went to be with his Lord on July 2, 2017. He was born on January 22, 1932 in Opelousas, Louisiana to parents Enas and Ophelia Bertrand.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gloria Bertrand, two children, Sandra Plilar and husband Larry, Darlene Edwards and husband Jeff; four grandchildren, Genie Resendez and husband Leon, Toug Plilar and wife Lindsay, Joshua Edwards and wife Julianne, Tanner Edwards, four great- grandchildren, Alyssa Resendez, Brielle Resendez, J.D. Plilar, Elise Plilar, great –great grandson Jayden Casey; two siblings and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a funeral service Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Chapel, followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
