AMITE COUNTY RESIDENT DIES
C. L. Whittington, 77, Was Member of Old Salem Church
Claude L. Whittington, 77, died at the home of a son, A. J. Whittington, in Liberty, June 19.
Burial was conducted at the Whittington cemetery, by the Reverend Garrett, of Gloster.
Mr. Whittington was the last survivor of the late Arthur J. Whittington and Orrie Butler, of the Old Salem Methodist church. For many years, he was a member of the Old Salem Methodist church.

Besides the one son, surviving are 13 other children: Icy Knight, Magnolia; Allie Middleton, Earnestine Hawkins, Mrs. Irma Dier of McComb; Mrs. Georgia O'Neal, Mrs. Lucy Coley, Hollis Whittington, Oak Grove, La.; Mrs. Grady Rollinson, of Gloster, and Mrs. Burnette Sims, of Memphis, Tenn.:
Misses Claude Mae, Barbery Dixie and Hattie Belle Whittington, all of Liberty.
Many grandchildren and friends also mourn his death.
