Waneta "Snook" Adkins, age 68 of Unionville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Putnam County Hospital in Unionville, Missouri.

Waneta was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on April 13, 1949, the daughter of Warren L. and Ione Margerie (Pope) Lisk. She was united in marriage to Leslie "Bud" Phipps and to this union of marriage, the couple were blessed with four children, Marilyn, Franklin, Tina, and Corey.

Waneta held numerous job titles throughout her lifetime. At one point in time, she worked in office cleaning. She also worked in housekeeping at several nursing homes. While residing in Arkansas, Waneta worked in the cleaning department at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

In her free time she enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, drawing, painting, cooking, and jigsaw puzzles. Waneta loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She also enjoyed attending garage sales. Most importantly, Waneta cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Ione Margerie Lisk of What Cheer, Iowa; two children, Marilyn (Mike) Carman of Worthington, Missouri, and Tina (Danny) Garr of Unionville, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and five siblings, Richard (Patti) Lisk of Albia, Iowa, Nell (Marv) Davis of Hedrick, Iowa, Warren "Bub" (Sandy) Lisk Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, Alice Chatfield of What Cheer, Iowa, and Deb (Dale) Bartholomew of Ollie, Iowa.

Waneta was preceded in death by her father, Warren L. Lisk; two sons, Franklin Phipps and Corey Phipps; and a great grandchild, Adam Michael Carman.

According to wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 PM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Assembly of God Church in Unionville, Missouri. Memorials have been established to the P.C. Café and Resource Center in Unionville, Missouri and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com. Lange Funeral Home in Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the family.
