A lifelong resident of Newberry, he is survived by his mother Gail of Newberry and brothers John of New York, James of Sault Saint Marie, daughter Veronika Roberts, longtime companion Stacy Mills and her children Nathan, Mickayla and Nevaeh.
He graduated from Tahquamenon Area High School in 1990 and attended Lansing Community College earning an associate’s degree. He proudly served as a Corrections Officer with the State of Michigan for 21 years, the last 12 at the Newberry Correctional Facility and served as a trustee on the Village Council of Newberry for the past three years
Brian was a faithful Detroit Lions and Red Wings supporter through the good times and the bad, an avid science fiction fan and collector of memorabilia. However, what Brian will be remembered for most is his exceptional wit and sense of humor, always ready with a joke and a smile to brighten the day of anyone who knew him.
A gathering for friends and family will be held at the American Legion Post #74 Warren Room in Newberry on Thursday, July 6 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
