David Eugene Reeder, 65, of Catawissa passed away June 30, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late William and Arlene (English) Reeder.
He graduated from Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School. David was a social member of the Catawissa VFW, and a member of the NRA. He loved playing cards, he was an avid coin collector, liked hunting and fishing, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, the former Carmen DeJesus, whom he married March 30, 2017; five children: Elizabeth Reeder of Florida, JennyLynn Reeder and wife Wendi Downs, of Florida, Carey McElwee and fiancé Jason Musselman, of Muncy, Kevin D. Reeder and wife Heather, of Florida, Michael W. Reeder and fiancée Jamila Rojas, of Catawissa; stepson, Omar Rojas, of Danville; 11 grandchildren; as well as brother, William Reeder and companion Donna, of South Dakota; two sisters: Joyce Shaffer and husband Scott, of Virginia, Ruth Adams and husband Marcus, of Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service.
