76, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born January 10, 1941 in Louisville the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Whitfield.

Carol attended Shawnee High School and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, earning her Bachelor's in music. She worked in the guidance office for Oldham County Middle School as well as holding the full time job of "mom" for her two children.

Carol was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Choir, and the women's bible study group. The love of music was always a part of her life and she sang in many choruses over the years, including the Mississippi Chorus, which allowed her to enjoy her passion for music and the opportunities it had to offer.

Carol was dedicated to her family, was a loving soul and adored her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed the fellowship experienced while playing games with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Whitfield.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Tom Casey; daughter, Cindy Casey Stivers (Mark) of Louisville; son, Brian Casey (Paige) of Naperville, IL; four grandchildren, Abby and Elise Stivers and Katelyn and Cameron Casey; brother, Bob Whitfield (Dottie) and a sister-in-law, Ann Whitfield.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Middletown United Methodist Church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Road, 40243 with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at Noon on Monday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to OAK, Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky, 2300 Hurstbourne Village Drive, Louisville, KY 40299 (www.oakky.org) or to Middletown United Methodist Church Building Fund.
