It is with great saddness that the family of Rita Fancy announces her sudden passing on June 27, 2017, at the age of 77. Born in Halifax, October 3, 1939, she was a daughter of the late William and Nina (Gallivan) Emberly. She is survived by son,
Alister; grandchildren, Jennifer
Fancy, Amanda Fancy and Carl Baker; sister, Nina Pippy; son-in-law,
Gerrard Baker, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Borden; daughter,
Darlene Baker; brothers, James, Russel, William; sister, Beatrice, and daughter-in-law, Dawn. Rita was a retiree from Sears; she worked there in the warehouse for 25 years until it closed. She loved being independent and working in her garden. She had a love for her four-legged
friends especially her little dog, Teddy. As per Rita's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service in Hillcrest Cemetery, Westfield, Queens Co. on Thursday, July 6, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the family cottage in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope for Wildlife, 5909 Hwy. 207 Seaforth, NS B0J 1N0, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, or a charity of your choice. Online condolences can be made to:
