Jana Lee Young was born October 1, 1936 to William Wiley “W.W.” Turnham and Eva (Spencer) Turnham. She passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 80.
Mrs. Young was a graduate of Butner High School where she was a star basketball player. She married Gilbert Young, February 12, 1954 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and was a longtime resident of Seminole before residing in Edmond, Oklahoma for the past 30 plus years. Mrs. Young worked as the deputy accessor for Seminole County for 8 years and as the deputy treasurer for Garfield County. She was an avid bowler and always enjoyed boating and water skiing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, three sisters and one son.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Young of the home in Edmond; one son, Geff Young of Edmond; one daughter, Linda Gregg of Edmond; one brother, Spencer Turnham of Owensboro, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Angela Watts of Victoria, Texas and Zachary Young of Broken Arrow and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Jana Lee Young will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Bearden Cemetery.
