Jessica Loraine "Jess" Cunningham, 17, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center of injuries she had suffered in a traffic accident in Trigg County, earlier Saturday morning.

Services will be at 2 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of Jackson, Tenn., she was born June 2, 1988, the daughter of Tim and Diane Haynes Cunningham.

She had worked as a cashier at Backyard Burgers. For about a year she had been undergoing treatment for leukemia and had only learned recently learned her illness was in remission. Prior to becoming ill, she had been a member of the Christian County High School Marching Band and the Guard and was a member of Eklipse Youth Organization Drum Line. She was a junior at Christian County High School.
She was a member of Grace Ministries.

In addition to her parents, survivors include a brother, Timothy Jay Cunningham II, a sister, Whitney Tyler Cunningham, both of the home; her paternal grandmother, Anita Cunningham, Ripley, Tenn., and her maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Linda Haynes, Ripley, Tenn.
