Obituary for Mary Alice Stallings
Mary Alice Stallings, 83, passed away on July 1, 2017 at Southwest Hospice in Union City. She was born July 7, 1933 in LaGrange, GA to the late Wilbur Thomas and Mattie Ruth Jeter.
She graduated from North Clayton Senior High School in 1950. Mary retired from Northwest Airlines, where she worked as a reservationist. In her early career, she also worked for Southern and Republic Airlines. She had a passionate devotion for serving her church as a Sunday school teacher for children and young adults, as well as ministering to those in various nursing homes.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Stallings; sister, Martha Price; and brother, George Jeter.
She is survived by her children, Dwight and Anita Stallings, David, and Donald Stallings; four grandchildren, Tim Stallings, Candice Smith, Jennifer Sewell and Natalie Davis; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Dickie Jeter; sister, Sue Carpenter; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Fayetteville, with Dr. Randy Wood and Rev. Dwight Stallings officiating. Burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, July 3, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southwest Hospice in Union City, http://www.swchristiancare.org
