Services will be 10 a.m. Sat., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Fri., with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. & a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Judy K. Murphy, the daughter of Thomas & Lenora (McDermott) Murphy, was born on 29 May 1943, in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School & went on to attend Wayne State College.
On 5 June 1965, Judy was united in marriage with Terry D. Peters in Sioux City. She worked for Gateway Computers in North Sioux City, S.D. until her retirement in 2009.
Judy enjoyed time with her children & grandchildren. She loved bingo & the legion hall. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved husband, who could always make her laugh.
Judy is survived by her husband of 52 yrs., Terry of Mesa; son, Jeff (Kari) Peters of Fargo, N.D., & their children, Jacob & Connor; daughter-in-law, Jacy Peters of Sioux City, & her children, Corey Peters & Callie Trobaugh-Peters; brother, Pat Murphy of Wisner, Neb.; a sister, Bev Petekavich of Kingsley, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Diane Peters of Sioux City, Meredith (John) Hanlon of Coral Springs, Fla., Phyllis Smith of Fort Dodge, Iowa & Cathy Meyer of Sioux City; & many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Peters; sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Murphy; niece, Kathy Murphy; & a brother-in-law, Kenneth Peters.
