MRS. SUSAN L. SMITH

Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. Guyer Stine, at 8 East Thirteenth street, Tyrone, Tuesday morning at 7.05 o'clock. She suffered a heart attack Monday morning. She was born near Hannah Furnace, Centre county, on Sept. 11, 1861, and was a daughter of the late Abram and Lucy McMonigle Burns. She was united in marriage with Thomas Smith on July 23, 1881, at Bellefonte. Mrs. Smith has spent her entire life with the exception of a year or two in Tyrone and vicinity. She was an active member of the United Brethren church and a member of Mrs. Harry Ammerman's Sunday school class. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Charles E. Smith of Tyrone, George A. Smith of Warriors Mark, Mrs. Leroy Hoover of Altoona, Mrs. Oscar Harpster of Spruce Creek, Mrs. G. Guyer Stine and Earl A. Smith of Tyrone. Twenty grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Stephen Burns of Bellwood, Mrs. Rosie Beckwith of Patton, Elmer Burns of Blue Ball, George Burns of Tyrone and Mrs. Bertha Dodd of Pine Grove Mills. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2.30 by her pastor, Rev. J.S. Colledge, and interment will be made in Eastlawn cemetery.
