Actor. He was a Scottish actor most recognized for his role as Private James Frazer on the British TV sitcom, "Dad's Army" (1968 to 1977). For feature films, he appeared in many movies such as "The 39 Steps" (1935), "Hamlet" (1948), "Treasure Island" (1950), "Kid Napped" (1960) and "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1979). In addition, he was also a noted stage actor particularly in Shakespearean roles.
