Lloyd, son of Alba L. and Ida L. Farnsworth Mobley, was born June 30, 1921 in Columbus, Nebraska. He departed this life Friday, May 19, 2000, in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, ten months, and nineteen day.
On February 18, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Gregg, and to this union five children were born.
He was born and raised in Nebraska and attended both grade school and high school in Crawford, graduating in the Class of 1940. He enlisted in the United States Navy on January 7, 1942 and served on the U.S.S. Crosby, where he saw action in the South Pacific.
He farmed with his father in Nebraska until moving to Iowa in 1958. He took great pride in raising Charolais cattle until retiring in 1976, when he and Betty moved to Seymour, Missouri.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; five children, Linda Phillips of Centerville, IA, Greg Mobley of Alvia, IA, Pam Bookout of LaVista, NE, Trent Mobley of Cincinnati, IA, and Jeff Mobley of the home; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister, Shirley Wasserburger of Lincoln; four nieces; one nephew as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanne Barnum.
