Kirby Smith, 80, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. He was born to Joel and Mable Holt Smith on August 13 1936 in Cato, Missouri. Kirby was a retired machinist, an ordained deacon, and a member of the New Dawn Pentecostal Church in Aurora for close to 60 years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son, Scott Smith, and wife, Jodie, of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter, Cindy Poage, and husband, Jim, of Aurora, Missouri; three brothers: J. O. Smith, of Parkville, Missouri, Jerry Atnip, of Arizona, and David Atnip of Casville, Missouri; one sister, Betty Raley, of Aurora, Missouri; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30 at 10:00 a. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Cassville. Memorial donations may be made to the New Dawn Youth Ministry in care of the funeral home.
