Our Mom, CLARA RACY "GABBY" RAY, Ninety One, of West Hamlin, W.Va., passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, at Lincoln Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hamlin, W.Va. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray. Mom was born on August 29, 1925, in Logan County, to Claude Bailey Sr. and Mary Alice Brumfield Bailey. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Claude Bailey Jr. and twin brother, Clarence Ray Bailey, sister, Edana Mae Gill, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wylie and Mary Stowers. She is survived by her son, Roger (JoAnn) Ray, one daughter, Elecha (Danny) Pratt, all of West Hamlin, W.Va., her only granddaughter, Kari (Tim) Runyon of Flatwoods, Ky., grandson, Aaron Ray of West Hamlin, and several nieces and nephews. Mom was a longstanding member of Center Point Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her untimely illness. She was choir leader there for many years, and she and the choir traveled to many churches throughout the surrounding counties to sing. Mom loved singing for the Lord, loved life and all whom she met throughout her journey on this earth. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va., with Rev. Bobby Burns and Rodney Linville officiating. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, W.Va. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va.
