Pastor David Sloan, Sr., age 58, of Covington passed away June 25, 2017. He was born in DeLand Florida on October 8, 1958. David grew up in both Georgia and Florida. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf with his boys. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. A man of God, Pastor Sloan was a Minister at Alcove Missionary Baptist Church in Scottdale, Georgia and led many people to the Lord. He was preceded in death by his mother; Nina Norton Smith.
Pastor Sloan is survived by his wife; Brenda Sloan of Covington, his sons; Davy and Sabrina Sloan of Covington and Tim and Emily Sloan of New Jersey his grandchildren; Ethan, Shiilynn, Skylor, Leland and JeZiah. He is also survived by his siblings; Ervin Sloan of DeLand, Florida, Rhonda Riojas also of DeLand, Larry Sloan and Randy Sloan both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida along with his church family numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Pastor Dave will be held at 4 o'clock Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Wallace Ratliff and Pastor Kenneth Sweat officiating.
