Polly Moore Johnson, 81, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at NMMC surrounded by family. She was born to the late Arzell and Adella Moore Gates in Chickasaw County on January 30, 1936.
She was a lifelong resident of the community and a former employee of Reeds Manufacturing for over 20 years. She loved God and was a member of the Church of God in Christ most of her life and in recent years, she united with Mt. Calvary Outreach after relocating to Okolona.
Survivors include her son, Elder James Robert Turner (Brenda), grandchildren, Miranda and Jamison, sisters, Adella Everett (Johnny) of Tupelo, Estella Moore of Okolona, brothers, Willie D. Moore (Ethel) Johnnie (Cheryl) both of Houlka, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson, sisters, Fannie Kate Braylock, Ethel Davis, Lillie Bell Moore, brothers, James Moore, Joe Lee Moore, JV Moore, and Robert Moore.
Services will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Outreach, 2 pm with Rev. Willie T. Davis Jr. Officiating. Burial will follow in Okolona Oddfellows. Visitation will be Friday at Williams Memorial, 4-6 p.m. with a wake at 6 p.m.
