Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18th, at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Motta officiating with burial to follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hayes was born in Unionville, Ill., where she lived all her life. She was a member of First Christian Church in Brookport, Illinois, she worked for both Magnavox and CTS Corporations in Paducah, Kentucky, until they closed and relocated; and then she worked at Wal-Mart until she retired.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Hayes; one daughter, Whenna Qualk and husband, Bud of Mayfield, Kentucky; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Chambers of Metropolis, and Julie Hayes of Troy, Illinois; eight; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Ada Harris King; her two sons, Larry and Todd Hayes; five sisters, Louise Caldwell, Virginia Glidden, Mildred Powell, Ada Mae Owens, and Lora Jean Short; and one brother, Melvin King.
