Douglas Hart Sr. entered this world on February 15, 1929 in Wewoka, OK to Cora "Malone" and Leon "Jabo" Hart. He had one sister; Katha May, two brothers; Rexell and Bo Hart.

They moved to Junction City, KS before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1938. He attended and graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. Out of High School Douglas got into the Construction business working on various highways. He later joined up with Koss Construction helping to build Interstate 35 from Kansas to Oklahoma, Colorado and beyond. Douglass retired after 25 plus years of service. Within that time he married Mary Ann "West" Hart and to this union three children were born, Eliose "Punkin" Glover, Douglas "Butch" Hart, Kenneth Hart. Douglas also had two more children; Gaila "Gaines" Talton and David Gaines, throughout the years you could always find Douglas working on something whether it was his house's or his yards, on a rooftop or at the lumber yard. He was always working hard. He was a man who never took a sick day, hard work was his middle name. Douglas loved his family and his dogs, he was faithful to them and they were loyal to him. You could always count on Misty snapping at your heels if you got to close.

Misty and Yay-Yo never left his side. Douglas was known for his work ethic, his dogs and overalls with his cigar. He was always in his overalls with his hands on his straps and a cigar in his mouth. He would say (Trying to figure out this dog-gone machine) or (been working on this booger all day).

Douglas is preceded in death by his mother and father Cora and Leon Hart, wife; Mary Ann (West) Hart, sister and brother; Kathy May Mclendon and Rexell Hart, Children; Eliose (Punkin) Glover and Douglas (Butch) Hart.

Douglas is survived by his caring, loving, life long partner of 30 plus years Georgia Jones, his brother Orville (Bo) Hart, sons; Kenneth Hart, David Gaines, daughter Gaila (Gaines) Talton and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billie Renfro officiating and Interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Oklahoma.
