Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville with Steve Rutherford officiating.
Burial will follow in Dunning Cemetery, Crofton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, she was born Nov. 13, 1931, to the late John W. and Myra Littlefield Gilliland. Nell graduated from Sinking Fork School in Christian County in 1950. She was a faithful member of New Salem Baptist Church in Nortonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Cansler; and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Rosemary) Cansler, Graham, Nancy (Roger) Grace and Cathy (Wayne) Pierce both of White Plains; her sister, Garnettia Wiggins of Jackson, Mich.; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one step-great-granddaughter.
