Jimmy James Patterson Jr., 69, entered into eternal life, Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Mr. Patterson was born March 1, 1948 in Denison, the son of Jimmie James and Mary Lou (Smith) Patterson. Jimmie was an excellent mechanic, he loved working on cars. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee of General Tire and Rubber Company in Dallas. He met and married the love of his life, Shalon Overturf. Together they enjoyed being with family, going to church and working in the yard. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Patterson leaves behind his family; wife, Shalon Patterson of Denison; son, Jason Patterson of Dallas; daughters, Lisa Jackson of Plano and Jennifer Cubit of Denison; step daughters, Heather Nation of Kansas, Audrey Cobb of Denison; brothers, Charles Walker, Thomas Bradley; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Ike Hall; God daughter, Nadia Thomas; and God son, Fred Frazier. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Oscar Smith; and beloved daughter, Delphia Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Rickey Sommers officiating. Interment will follow in Jeremiah Cemetery in Denison. Family and friends will gather from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
Pallbearers will be Ike Hall, Kahlin Hall, Fredrick Frazier, Charles Walker, Ulrie Cassita and Gregory Cheatham. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Nugent, Sammie Lewis, Jimmy Banks, Thomas Rucker Sr. and Albert Lemons.
