He graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Richard worked in management at the former Mi-Jan Fabrics, Inc. in Denver, PA for over 20 years.
Richard had a love for cars and was very knowledgeable about all of them. His love of cars led him to starting his children's racing careers in 1986 – a sport still in their lives today.
In addition to his wife, Jan, of Newmanstown, he is survived by his daughter, Angie Guhl wife of Donald and son, Michael Rutherford, both of Lititz. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tori and Annika and a cousin, Barbara Cramer Crouse of OH.
