Leslie Reed, Jr., age 85, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Grand Haven Nursing Home, in Cynthiana. Born in Bourbon County, Kentucky, on April 6, 1929, to the late Leslie Reed, Sr., and Christine Givens Reed, he was a former employee of Eaton and retired from Grede Perm Cast. Leslie moved to Harrison County at an early age and attended Banneker School. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was a faithful member and former trustee board member of Macedonia Baptist Church, until his health prevented him from attending.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Crystal Reed; a brother, Sammy Reed; and a sister, Mary Bryant Reed. He is survived by: a daughter, Monica (Shelton) Reed, of Cynthiana; two sons, Eric Reed and Nathaniel Reed, both of Cynthiana; a grandson, Eric Lewis; five great-grandchildren, Adalynn Lewis, Karissa Williams, Mackenzie Rodgers, Malia Rodgers and Tayana Williams; and special friends, Jeannie Willis, Thelma Crawford, Rose Custard and William Frazier.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church by Rev. Anthony Stevenson, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Boyers, Marvin Boyers, Howard Custard, Robert Walker, Jr., Joe Hinton and Terry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be William Frazier, Shelton Patterson, Darrell Ray, James Swinford, Jon Schreiber, Joe Williams and George Switzer.
