Troy Ernest Lewis, 94, passed away on June 26, 2017 at his home in Swannanoa. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Edgar Lewis and Dozie Emaline Jones, several brothers and sisters, and son Pat Lewis.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his loving wife Valerie Hampton Lewis of 70 years; siblings J. D. Lewis of Swannanoa and Rebecca Watkins of Cleveland TN; children Troy "Tony" Lewis (Nancy) of Etowah, Wanda Lewis of Asheville, Brenda Lewis of Swannanoa, Deborah Edwards of Marshall, and Vikkie Metcalf (Marty) of Asheville; grandchildren that he raised Mark Lewis of Swannanoa and Tonya Amaker (Bobby) of Inman, SC; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mr. Lewis was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion of Waynesville. Mr. Lewis loved working in his wood shop and traveling. He traveled to many states.

A service will be held at the Parkway Baptist Church in Asheville, of which he was a member, on Friday, June 30 at 12:30 with the Reverend Wendall Runion and Pastor Randy Young officiating. The family will receive friends at 11AM. Burial will follow at 2PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
