Carolyn Sue Mays, 69, of Fairview, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 3, 1947 in Wetzel County, a daughter of the late Sherman W. Mays and Frances Gibson Fincham.
She leaves behind her husband whom she has been with for 34 years, William “Dale” Shriver of Fairview. Although she had no children of her own, she did consider Sherman “Hammer” Mays her own, as well as his son: Casey Jacob Mays. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara Whitlach, Barrackville, Penny (Mike) Ammons, Daybrook, Linda (Warren) Sawitski, Rivesville; her brothers: Jim (Debbie) Mays, Fairmont, Charles Mays, Daybrook, and Sherman Mays, Fairmont; a step brother: Robert Fincham; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Henry Gibson and William “Billie” Mays; and 2 sisters: Mary Ann Hinerman and Rosalee Wells.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington.
