Margie Marie Haskett Stanley, 83, of Fayetteville, WV was the daughter of the late Albert Nephi and Ethel Mae Scott Haskett. She was an active member of Fayetteville First Church of God where she was active in many activities. Some of her activities included teaching Sunday school, choir director, youth leader, WCG president, Over the Hill Gang leader, and play director and she served on the FCOG Board of Trustees. She visited nursing homes, and even played Mrs. Santa for American Red Cross and Woman's Club. She attended Montgomery, WV High School and received her GED from Fayetteville High School. She retired from Catholic Community Services with ten years in adult services. In her community services, she was voted "Fayetteville's Outstanding Citizen of the Year", Fayette Tribune's "Person of the Month" and Fayette County Volunteer of the Year. Her most outstanding trait was her witness of how much she loved the Lord. She was always caring for other people's needs; working in the church and community. She is noted for her friendliness, singing, happy personality, and her love for her church family, family, and friends. She loved singing gospel music, sewing, cooking, working with Fayette County Volunteers and Camp Kismet. Music was a favorite and she was blessed to be able to record 2 LP records. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lea Stanley; sisters, Kathern Boggs, Rosie Martin, Brenda Shears, Saundra Stosen, and Rita Benjamin; and brothers, Arlie Haskett and Albert Haskett. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert Levi Stanley, five sons, and three daughters.
