Mrs JOSEPH BUSSMAN
Mrs Joseph (Mary) Bussman, age 81 years, 4 months and 22 days passed away at the family home in St Francis, east of town about 8 o'clock Saturday morning January 25, 1936. She had been in failing health for some time but she was not considered seriously ill.
Funeral services were held from St Francis Church in this city at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning with the pastor. Rev Cyrinus Schneider OIM officiating. Burial took place in the parish Cemetery.
Mary Schleper was united in marriage to Joseph Bussman on February 8, 1876. Her husband preceded her in death on May 5, 1916. Four children William, Wilhelmina, Teresa and Agnes have also entered the Great Beyond. Seven children survive, namely: Mrs Anthony (Anna) Goeckner of Bishop Creek; Joseph and Louis of St Francis township; Mrs Ben (Mary) Buennemeyer of Germantown; Henry and Mrs Pete (Elizabeth) Helmink of Effingham; and John Bussman of Kansas.
Thirty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive, be sides one brother: Clem Schleper of Teutopolis and four sisters, namely: Mrs Peter Koestner and Mrs Joseph Rechtiene of Teutopolis: Mrs John Repking of Bishop Creek and the Ven Sr. M. Cunegunda of 0'Fallon. MO.
The deceased was a model wife and mother, the kindest of neighbors and a loyal friend. She was affiliated with the Married Ladies Sodality of St Francis Church.
