Brooks, Valerie Valerie Jane Brooks, aged 79, of Grandville, passed away June 25, 2017. She was born to the late Virgil and Helen Thompson, and was one of twelve children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin and twin brother Virgil. She is survived by one brother, Donald Thompson of Arizona. She is also survived by her children, Carolynn (Dwight) Gilbert, Ronald (Lori) Brooks, and Peggy (Pat) Ary, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Many thanks to Brookcrest Nursing Home which she called home, and to Emanuel Hospice for making her last days peaceful. Memorial contributions may be made in Valerie's name to Emmanuel Hospice (2161 Leonard St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
