John "Bob" Robert Bostic, Sr., 78, of Mt. Sterling and Okeechobee, Florida, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence in Okeechobee, Florida. He was born October 19, 1938 in Pike County to the late Charlie and Verdie Varney Bostic.

Bob moved to Montgomery County forty-five years ago from Pike County, he's a member of Antioch Christian Church and attended at Gateway Christian Church, retired engineer from A.O. Smith and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed playing golf, cleaning his cars, traveling, a past little league baseball coach and spending time with his dog, Dazee Lue. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include; his beloved wife of thirty-four years, Margie Murphy Bostic of Mt. Sterling and Okeechobee; two sons, John Bostic, Jr. (Jenna) of Ft. Hood, Texas and Michael McNew (Karen) of Okeechobee; three brothers, Chester Bostic of Tennessee, Bruce Bostic and Kenneth Bostic (Judy), both of Pikeville; seven sisters, Mae Poteet (Colin) of Tennessee, Goldie Edwards, Jean Chapman, Beulah Adkins, Betty Stevens (Terry), Charlene Adkins, Linda Adkins, all of Pikeville; five grandchildren, Alexia Bostic, Addison Bostic, Benji Lane (Bev), Chase Nickell and Annette Bartley (Heath); seven great grandchildren, Aaden Lane, Gracyee Lane, Bailey Lane, Zach Bartley, Wyatt Bartley, Lila Bartley and Rhett Bartley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Adkins.

Funeral will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 2:00PM. Visitation will be prior from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, both services at Gateway Christian Church. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Bill Kilgore will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Doyle King, Chase Nickell, Benji Lane, Christian McCarty, Keaton McCarty, Jeff Meadows, Steven Young and Tyler Young

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Toy, Donnie Carpenter and Bob's brothers and Sisters.
