Maxine was born on July 24, 1924 in Bellevue, IA, the daughter of John and Louise (Milder) Schroeder. She married Clarence Kuehl on Feb. 14, 1948 in Clinton; he died in 2007. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in rural Clinton for many years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed playing cards in the card club.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Marleen (Tom) Coon of Freeport, IL; a son, Rick (Judy) Kuehl of Clinton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters, Laura Turner, Vera Migawa, Alberta Mommsen and Loretta Sullivan all of Clinton, and Clara Hall of Bullhead City, AZ; a brother, Bill Schroeder of Clinton; a brother-in-law, Jerry Smith of Clinton; three sisters-in-law, Mary Schroeder of Austin, MN, Audrey Schroeder of Camanche and Grace Schroeder of Marengo, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
