The youngest of thirteen, Fred Robertson Jr. was born in Franklin, Virginia. He was raised in Norfolk by his Aunt Mary and Uncle Robert Ridley.
A Vietnam veteran, Fred retired from the U.S. Air Force, then became and subsequently retired from a job as a Veteran's Employment Advisor for the State of Washington. Fred served on the Vancouver Veteran's Day Parade committee for 20 years, volunteered at the Vancouver VA clinic, and served in a number of Veteran's groups over the years including the American Legion, 40 and 8ers, DAV, VFW and VVA. Most were in Vancouver, Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, formerly of Corby, UK and son, Paul of Charlottesville, Virginia.
The family asks that donations to a Veteran's group or charity be made in his name.
Services were at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon on June 29, 2017.
