BOLT - Clyde Daniel, 77, of Bolt, formerly of Saxon, died February 15, 1997, in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. He was born on April 4, 1919 in Saxon, WV to the late Thurman Daniel (1888-1967) and Eliza "Liza" Pettry-Daniel (1893-Deceased).
He was a farmer, miner and timber cutter, having last worked for J.P. Hamer Company. He was a gardener and a Christian. He was married to Vallie Duncan-Cozart-Daniel (1906-Deceased) on September 16, 1947 in Naoma, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1947, Page 412, Application Date: September 13, 1947).
He is survived by his companion, Lou Jean Martin-Tolley (Deceased); his son, Eddie Daniel of Beckley; his brothers, Carl Daniel (1916-Deceased), Raymond "Sarge" Daniel (1921-2010), Kyle Daniel (1923-2012), Quinford Daniel (1924-1995), Winford Daniel (1925-Deceased), and Arthur Daniel (1929-Deceased); his sisters, Arizona Daniel (Deceased), Georgia Daniel of Beckley, Elsie Daniel-Vanetta of Greensburg, PA, Marie Daniel-Henry (Deceased) of Hiltons, VA; his stepsons, Clarence Cozart (B. 1929), Johnny Cozart and Ernest Cozart; and his stepdaughter, Lavina Cozart-Daniel.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cove Creek Community Church, Saxon, with the Rev. Juddy Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Daniel Family Cemetery, Saxon.
