Ronnie Lee Young departed this life on Monday, June 26, 2017, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 10 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on September 16, 1947, the son of the late William Edward and Blanche Gray Young.

Ronnie was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1968 - 1974. He was a helicopter door gunner. He received numerous air medals, the 2nd through 16th and commendations for flight hours.

He was self-employed as a building contractor and was known for saying, "I loved to work and I was good at it." He enjoyed going to Tunica, fishing, and going to the mountains. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Stacy Deaton and her husband, Johnny of Florence, Alabama, Chris Young and his wife Delinda of Savannah, Tennessee, Marlene Beckham of Lexington, Tennessee, and Chelle Payne and her husband Scott of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jacob, Sydney, Davis, Eric, Blake, Devin, Vance, Cayla, Nicholas, Cody, Josh, and Brittney; great grandchildren, Dalton, Hallie, and Sean Cole; sisters, Delois Robinson of Jackson, Tennessee and Gail Alexander of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Royce Young of Savannah, Tennessee; and lifelong companion, Helen Beckham of Savannah, Tennessee.
