A funeral mass will be celebrated for Randy Alan Brinkley, 32, of Athens at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Charley Alookaran officiating. Burial will be in Houston Cemetery in Tanner with Peoples Funeral Home directing. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Brinkley passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at home. Randy Brinkley was born July 15, 1979, in Saginaw, Mich., to Dr. Alfred Glen Brinkley Jr. and Jessie Knight Brinkley. Randy was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. He worked at Trimble Navigations in Huntsville. Randy accomplished a lot in his spirit-filled life while battling cancer for the last 13 years. After graduating from Athens State University, Randy received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems. Randy was a great father, husband, son and friend who loved and adored his wife, children, parents, sisters and his family. Randy continued to work and support his family until the day he was called to heaven. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alfred Brinkley and Mollie and George Knight. He is survived by his wife, Maranda Malone Brinkley; daughter, Joya Brinkley, 13; son, Alan Brinkley, 3; parents, Dr. Alfred and Jessie Brinkley; and sisters, Tiffany Brinkley Abernathy and husband Fred of Athens, and Melany Brinkley of Huntsville; grandparent, Julia Brinkley of Fayette, Miss.; as well as a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He dedicated his life to serving others, always thinking of ways that he could help to make their lives better. His love, encouragement, and sincere love for mankind will truly be missed.
