Dr. Charles W. Draper, age 70, was ushered into the arms of his Savior on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Born on May 25, 1947 in Jacksonville, TX to James and Lois (Keeling) Draper, the youngest of their three sons. He graduated from Baylor University, obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and PhD from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Ordained in 1964 with his first pastorate at 17 years of age. In 1998 he joined the faculty of Boyce College, teaching all aspects of biblical studies. He served as pastor for 25 years in churches from Florida to Hawaii.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Retta Wymer Draper; son, David and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Shelly Hardin and her husband Kyle; 6 grandchildren Rafe Hardin, Christopher Hardin, Riley Hardin, Finn Hardin, Jac Draper, and Caroline Draper; brother, James T. Draper, Jr. and wife Carol Ann, and a host of students, relatives and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lois Draper and brother George Draper.

Visitation begins at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 28, in Alumni Memorial Chapel, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with a celebration of Charles' life beginning at 2 PM. Final service will be in Livingston, LA on Saturday July 1, with visitation from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church. The celebration of his life will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery.
