Norma Jean Gatti Clayton

Norma Jean Gatti Miller Clayton, 64, of Fruitland Park, Florida passed away around 8:00pm on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida. She was born May 8th, 1947 in Wheeling, WV to Norman and Zula "Brownie" Gatti of St. Clairsville, Ohio who both preceded her in death.

She attended Fairmont State University in Fairmont, WV and obtained her Master's Degree in Education. She was a beloved English teacher at River High School in Hannibal, Ohio for 30 years. She also taught at several schools in Central Florida including: Rimes Elementary and Fruitland Park Elementary in Fruitland Park, as well as Leesburg High School and Carver Middle School in Leesburg. She was active at the United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was actively involved as an officer.

She is survived in death by her husband, Howard Clayton, of Fruitland Park, Florida. Howard has 5 sisters and one brother. She is also survived by her son, Vincent Ricer and his wife Trish Ricer, of Belleview, Florida, Vincent, originally from St. Clairsville, Ohio and Trish, originally from Martins Ferry, Ohio along with beloved friends and family.

Her funeral is planned for Saturday, Nov. 26th at 3:00 PM with a visitation from 2:00 " 3:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Fl. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation @ www.pulmonaryfibrosisfoundation.org or American Lung Association @ www.lungusa.org.
